[realfood] Popcorn and Oil

I am smiling, oh I am an addict over popcorn for sure. I like the
theater popcorn with "butter". It's great. I die for my popcorn at
home though as I use real butter on it with what is called real salt.
Think I have mentioned this. I love the taste of real butter and
that is all we use actually. We don't go through a lot so I don't
worry that we are clogging our systems up. Well, I can't say that
when it comes to popcorn. I do use quite a bit of real butter melted
just to a certain point and put on the hot popcorn. But if I can't
have this, and any time I go to a movie I buy the buttered version.
It must be a bit stressful if the house if full and everyone wanting
popcorn and the big one goes on the blink for you. You have a smart
dad to keep the smaller one in the back room.
I have boughten at Sams the gallon jars of "popcorn oil" before. It
comes sort of flavored though which takes me back to wanting an oil
without flavors added so I can get the taste of the popcorn and
butter.
Hope this makes sense.
One of my favorite memories of movies was long ago a friend and I
would go to a mall on Saturday afternoon for the dollar movies and
stop by the Sears store there to get the popcorn. They used some
form of sweet butter over the popcorn. It was to die for. We would
get it and go to the movies, buy our pops and if candy wanted there
but had to get our popcorn at Sears. You can't find that type of
popcorn to be purchases anymore unless I miss something when I go to
larger cities now. I live in a rural area now and have for years.
Our theater here is a great old one they have restored and they do
serve up some tasty popcorn.
I have to ask this though, it looks and sort of tastes more like a
butter flavored oil is put over the popcorn more than real fresh
butter. Is this right?
Thanks, Lo
