[realfood] Pop corn and oil........then a strange page

I have some butter flavored popcorn salt I found in the store in the
popcorn area. It's okay but I want real salt and butter. ha
I have a friend who is deeply in love with kettle corn, again, it is
okay but I just really like it the old fashion way.
I just read some place where corn oil is one of the picks for popcorn
as it will heat better and give a fuller fluff than say just veggie
oil, etc. But I am still going to try the coconut oil. I use to try
Orveill Redenbockers (however that is spelled) oil but couldn't find
it made the taste any better or the corn pop any bigger, etc. So for
cost left it alone.
Anyone else getting a strange page when you try to come in post a
note on the main page? I get daily digest so I have to come in to
home page to post. It was driving me crazy so I finally said yes I
would join and the page came up and said you are already a member.
hahahahaha
Whatever.....................good to see the post about using butter
and salt in moderation so you can still enjoy the popcorn.
I just orderd a 12 1/2 lb bag or box of popcorn from a place called
Alisons Pantry. You order in bulk. It could be 17 1/2 #'s I guess,
either way I know it won't go bad. I keep my popcorn in a tin in the
fridge.
I also sometimes mix white with yellow and it causes some interesting
kernels as the white pops so much smaller than the yellow. I think
it's whatever mood I am in when I buy. Over all I prefer yellow
kernels though. And one that will pop well, some of the less
expensive will pop well, some doesn't. If it doesn't I don't buy that
brand again.
This has been a great thread.
