Baked Apple-Cinnamon French Toast Recipe 

  Stuffed french toast 
  
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 6 apples, peeled, cored and cut in 1/4-inch slices
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 6 slices thick Challah bread, toasted
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Heat butter in skillet over medium heat until it starts foaming.  Add the apple and cook until tender (about 10 minutes).  Take off the heat and stir in brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.  Continue...
