Pear Parmesan Scones

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
8 tablespoons butter, cut into pieces
2 ounces Parmesan cheese, coarsely grated
2 peeled Bartlett pears, shredded, pressed and drained
3/4 cup plus 1 1/2 tablespoons whipping cream

Preheat oven to 400F degrees. Place flour, baking powder, pepper and
salt in food processor and pulse to combine. Add butter and pulse
until mixture resembles coarse meal.

Transfer to bowl and stir in cheese and pear. Add whipping cream and
stir just until combined.

Knead dough gently several times with floured hands on lightly
floured surface. Pat dough into 8-inch diameter round, about 1/2
inch thick. Cut into 8 triangles with sharp knife and place on
parchment paper-lined baking sheet.

Bake for 24 minutes or until golden brown. Cool before serving.
